GemTrove: Diamond Certificate Of Authenticity

Trusted Diamond Certificate Of Authenticity

Diamond certification guarantees the quality of your diamonds. Certification of authenticity is like your diamond’s passport. Your precious stone’s certificate of authenticity will help you ensure your luxury item with most insurance companies and gives you extra peace of mind that your diamond is 100% authentic.

There are a variety of professional institutes who provide diamond certification, but the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) is the most esteemed gemological establishments that provide proof of diamond authenticity.

GIA Grading Certificate

Our diamonds at GemTrove are tested and certified by the Gemological Institute of America (GIA).  Aside from proof of authenticity, the GIA certificate also provides a detailed report regarding the diamond’s cut, carat weight, clarity and colour values. These are the 4 C’s of diamond grading.

The GIA report gives an impartial judgement of the qualities of a loose diamond.

All the diamonds above 25 points in the GemTrove collection are GIA certified. When you purchase a diamond from us, it will have a GIA report. The GIA report has the following information:

GIA Sample Grading Report

  • Date the diamond was examined
  • Report number (this is a unique tracking number assigned to each diamond)
  • Diamond Shape (such as round, square etc.)
  • Measurements (mm)
  • Carat Weight
  • Depth %
  • Table %
  • Girdle Thickness
  • Culet Size
  • Polish Grade
  • Symmetry Grade
  • Clarity grade
  • Colour Grade
  • Cut Grade
  • Fluorescence Grade
  • Laser Inscription
  • Diamond Plot (shows the diamond’s inclusions and blemishes)
  • Proportion Diagram (a graphic showing the diamond’s proportions)
  • Security Features (hologram, security screen, micro print lines to prove authenticity)

Professional certification is an important aspect of our retail service because we uphold a No Conflict Policy. At GemTrove we provide you with real diamonds that are ethically mined. Due to the harsh history of diamond mining, we do not collect loose stones without proper authentication in our showroom.

Note: A certificate of authenticity and GIA report is different from an appraisal. Appraisals are a different kind of assessment that determines the value of an item mainly for insurance purposes. At GemTrove we can help you find an official appraiser to value your diamond.
