SPECIFICATION

Round
Round
A round cut diamond is comprised of 58 individual facets (flat, geometric shapes). This only differs when there is a culet (point) integrated into the design, of which there would be 57 facets instead.
Princess
Princess
Princess cut diamonds will traditionally be comprised of 57-58 facets. The bevel of the crown of the princess cut, as well as its pyramid like shape, makes it superior to other square shapes in terms of fire and brilliance.
Asscher
Asscher
Asscher cut diamonds traditionally came with 58, larger facets, allowing for the colour and clarity to be more widely visible than other cuts. It was for this reason that they became so popular, as well as the era in which they were created, as the cut soon became a hit with the art deco community of Amsterdam.
Emerald
Emerald
The emerald cut showcases a stylish “mirror” effect, and are perfect for those looking for style instead of fire and light quality.
Marquise
Marquise
Marquise diamonds are traditionally composed of anything between 56 to 58 facets, made up in a pointed oval shape. The most sought after marquise cuts will fit into the length to width ratio of 1.75-2.15.
Heart
Heart
Heart cut diamonds are one of the very few shapes in the jewellery world which are made to personal taste, and not precise grading measurements. It is because of this that there are very little prerequisites for the “perfect” cut.
Cushion
Cushion
Cushion cuts are renowned for their impeccable fire - greater than any other diamond cut. This is due in part to the various patterns that its facets can form, both based on the roundness and depth of the cut itself.
Pear
Pear
It is of little surprise that the success of the pear cut is down to its unique and incredibly beautiful shape. The ideal pear cut will possess perfect symmetry, with the point of the shape lining up with the middle of its base.
Oval
Oval
An ideal oval cut will share many properties as that of the round cut, specifically in relation to clarity and facet numbers (58). The preferred L/W ratio is between 1.33-1.66, although it is common for buyers to request custom ratios to line in with the length of their fingers.
Radiant
Radiant
Radiant cut diamonds come in two ideal L/W ratios, illustrating the shape’s versatility. Its more square version can be anything between 1.00 to 1.05. Having said that, it’s not rare to find more rectangular radiants that fit into anything up to 1.50.
Trillian
Trillian
Trillion cut diamonds brilliantly embellish the fire of a centre stone and this triangular cut could make for a bold and dramatic solitaire.
